Workshop: Integrated Artistic Audio Description
for blind and visually impaired audiences / Spoken Dance
with Naomi Sanfo-Ansorge and URSina Tossi
 – Participation is free of charge!

The two-day workshop with Naomi Sanfo-Ansorge and URSina Tossi builds on initial experiences with audio description and teaches specific approaches, artistic methods, and examples of solutions from previous productions by the two artists. In this workshop, audio description is treated not as a service, but as part of artistic practice. Together, we will explore dramaturgies of audio description, polyphony, and collaboration models.

The aim is also to provide advice on existing questions and concepts and to engage in an exchange about our own practice and specific projects. Individual work in small groups and experimentation with artistic strategies will be part of the workshop.

The workshop is aimed at professional dance and theater practitioners of all visual abilities who want to try out practical approaches to creating audio descriptions and break down barriers within their artistic processes and productions. The workshop is also aimed at members of the visually impaired and blind community who are interested in the role of dramaturgy in the creation of artistic audio descriptions. They may be artists themselves or members of the audience.
