As a choreographer and dancer, Ursina Tossi naturally understands bodies and their resistances. For BARE BODIES she places the body in the virtual space of the exception. Thrown back on its “bare”, naked life (Agamben), the body becomes the playing field for political interests and the object of strategic affect formation. Tossi is interested in the precarious situation of the body and its potential for resistance, which inspires her to create a choreography that is oriented towards science fiction and activist. The Hamburg choreographer repeatedly brings dance and philosophical questions into oscillation with each other and makes political spaces of action choreographically tangible. BARE BODIES is part of several years of research on resistant bodies, which she is now showing for the first time at Kampnagel.
